Our Vision
The vision of the single Mom’s group is to provide a safe and positive environment no matter where you are in your walk with Jesus or your season of change so that you may press on (Phil 3:12) and be encouraged (Col 2:2).

I would like to extend a personal invitation to be part of an amazing group of women who are going through this renewal together and who are claiming for themselves the promise of Jeremiah 29:11. ''For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.''
Please visit our website at http://www.highlandswomen.net/singlemoms.html or call Tara Jones at (480) 231-4071.

We meet from 7:00-8:30pm in the 1st Grade Classroom. Child care is available.

We'd like to hear from you...
If you care to give us the information below we would appreciate it so we can contact you, keep you posted via email of upcoming events, programs, and update you on our current study. It will also allow us to pray for you.

A Note From Tara

Like every woman who walks down the aisle in love and dreaming of a happy home filled with laughter and children never did I imagine 10 years later I'd be divorced and faced with raising my two young daughters alone.
I never was and still am not a modern day June Cleaver. I actually prefer jeans and flip flops to sequined gowns and snuggling on the couch with my girls to housework. However, it was the heart of June I admired. She loved her family. She honored her husband. She mothered her children and managed her household.

So, what do you do when the dream you carried down the aisle still lives deep within you but your circumstances have changed dramatically? For the first couple of years I hopped from church-to-church opening bulletins and looking around wondering where on earth I belonged. I thought the Lord's plans for my life were to support my husband and for US to raise Godly children (after all we dedicated them together and made a commitment in front of God and the church body). There was nothing screaming out in those bulletins: Divorced? We want you! It was an incredibly lonely place to be. How had I missed God?

It was only when I began to take hold of God’s promises that I realized I was far from alone and instead God had an incredible future and plan for my life. I remind myself that the days ordained for me were written in His book before one of them came to be (Psalm 139:16) and that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). As I meditated on God's truth, I wondered how could I ever doubt that even in the midst of the most horrific pain and fear in my life, He still has plans for ME...plans to prosper ME and not to harm ME, plans to give ME a hope and a future. This is a promise from my perfect Husband - God (Isaiah 54:5-6)! He has been diligently planning our future together and I almost missed it.

Are you in a similar place? Are you wounded and hurting? Do you ask yourself and God, How could this have happened? Are you wondering, What now?

Grab onto to God's promise and don't let go.  You are chosen by God.  He is calling you into an intimate relationship with Him…the Perfect Husband!  We may never know why such painful ordeals take root in our lives.  However, we can be sure that it is possible for us to rest peacefully knowing that He does have great plans for our lives.

As I think about my life and future today, I get so excited! I am living proof that God's Word is true!  The work that He has done within me is amazing.  He has transformed me!  I still do many of the same things I did before and am more determined than ever to build the family I always dreamed of having. I go to the Highlands family workshops and on the camping trips. We take family vacations, pray together and (try) to have dinner together at least once a week. God has not only equipped me but more important has given me a new heart, spirit, and mind. He has helped me to count my blessings and develop a new vision that will carry my dreams forward. I wouldn't wish what I have gone through on anyone.  But because of the change in me and the new purpose in my life, I am incredibly grateful for what God has done in me and hopefully will do through me.
